Lochinver, Highlands, Scotland

Lochinver is a village on the coast in the Assynt district of Sutherland, Highland, Scotland. A few miles northeast is Loch Assynt.

We stayed here in a rented cottage An Sealladh which was the perfect spot to explore from. From here you could walk into Lochinver and take the car to explore Assynt

Suilven standing 731 metres high, but its remarkable outline make it one of Scotland’s best known and most easily identified mountains.

No light pollution means star gazing is amazing here. There were also faint Aurora borealis or Northern lights visible over the four days we visited.
